TROUBLE SURROUNDS | WITH KAYA COCOE (WE ALL WEEP DEVOTIONAL SERIES) DAY 3 OF 3
TROUBLE SURROUNDS
It feels like the worst pain to have ever happened to you and yet, there is more...
The tears aren't enough, the fitful crying, the screaming into the pillow will never be enough to release the pain. Then, comes trouble on every side. It is too strong for you to keep going. However, the pain or trouble came to you, it does not plan on leaving until it meets the Almighty God. This is where it gets good, this is where trouble meets Maker, and the Divine takes over like a mighty rush.
"He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters; He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me. They prevented me in the day of calamity: but the LORD was my stay. He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me." (2 Samuel 22:17-20)
If you need to cry, do it now. For the rest of this message is going to lift you.
We must remember God.
It is often that we choose to go about our day as honest as we can but keep our worries in a place before us. This is when we think about the bill due, the next hit of trouble, the next wave of another worry, the next...the next and then some. It is the constant battle. When will we rest? When will we finally hand it over to God?
It doesn't belong to us...this worry, the pain, the trouble. We forget that the battle itself isn't ours...it is the Lord's battle. (2 Chronicles 20:15) It is so in the scriptures that often we see those who are called by God's name fighting one way or another, but we laser-focus on the battle versus the complete ending of the battle being won through God by his intervention.
We think that the battle will keep on showing up in our lives and we will never seize from fighting...but beloved by God, remember him...for he delights in you. He delights in saving you. A rescue is on the way, don't take me by my word, but by the love that God has upon you. It is that we do not know yet of the love of the Father. Though, as it says in Ephesians 3:17-19, "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God."
We have a God who looks at us with extreme, intense and immeasurable love who takes us as a delight, who removes our sins as far as the east is from the west in expansion. (Psalm 103:12). He came in the form of man, sending down himself for a rescue from the darkness and darkest deeds. (John 1:1)
He is touched by our infirmities, meaning he knows...(See Hebrews 4:15:16)
We are born of God, through Christ...we are his own. (John 1:10-13) Don't let yourself forget the God who loves you. He is in the midst of the worst pain or trouble, working a plan that we cannot see until the rescue comes. There is no need to hold on as if you will let go but Christ is holding you.
There will be a day you will look back and say, "God is faithful. He didn't fail me..." Know, once that takes place record it in your heart for you have just witnessed the love of God.
