LOSING SIGHT OF GOD
There is a way to truth, but many doors often lead you and opens to many possibilities...
Are there many possibilities? Could there be many doors before the truth? If you are wondering the constant questions that arise in your mind and this one: is Jesus truly the only way? I want to pose the question: why do you feel this come and go?
"For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ. Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is their shame, who mind earthly things." (Philippians 3:18-19)
Think for a moment, what conditions have been acquired that those who walked after the faith of Christ are now the enemies of the cross of Christ? It states, "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, if they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." (Hebrews 6:4-6)
It is an attack, spiritually and mentally to get you to believe from which you have known all this time.
In fact, it is the most serious...sneaky, and detrimental. For it is after your destiny in Christ, after your heavenly inheritance, the purpose you have as you walk on earth, and it is the goal of the enemy to get you not to believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ AFTER you had once believed.
Let me tell you this: it is the very attack you may be facing; it is more than just giving up...it is to stop believing what you know to be true.
Yes, the most pain we may experience is not the persecution, the bullying, the drawing back of others even friends or family...none of these are as painful as watching your faith slip away. It is devastating. Losing sight of God is the goal of the enemy in a believer's life. He wants to destroy you...don't you see? He wants to ruin what you and God have worked hard for...what you and God built.
"We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end. 15 As has just been said:
“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.”
16 Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? 17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed? 19 So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief. (Hebrews 3:14-19)
You have the initial opportunity to keep going, I have heard it said simply: snakes have poison in their mouths, and they will try to talk you out of the Garden, the very Garden you have with God and where you get all of your nurturing.
It is so true, what did Adam and Eve not have? A lie.
However: being confident in this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6)
We are not alone, the forerunner of our souls, Jesus Christ has already gone before us. He has died in our place, rose in victory over sin and death and the devil. He is establishing you, only abide in him and he will abide in you. (John 15:4-11).
